Welcome to the Esperanza Area of Narcotics Anonymous
EANA History

The Esperanza Area of Narcotics Anonymous (EANA) was formed in October of 1986 from the Central Texas Area. EANA is geographically located in south central Texas including the cities of Crystal City, Del Rio, Eagle Pass, Floresville, Laredo, Pleasanton, Poteet, San Antonio, Uvalde and surrounding counties.

We are a group of people who join together to help each other with their drug problem. To get more information on what NA can offer, please visit the Narcotics Anonymous World Service webpage. You can also write EANA at the address listed on our contact us page for more information. This website is maintained by the EANA Internet Technology Subcommittee.

If you have found this webpage and think you have a drug problem, please go to the Meeting Schedule page and find a meeting close to you and come visit us. Remember that there is hope that any addict can lose the obsession to use drugs and become a productive member of society.

This website has some useful information on activities, meetings, our newsletter and will be evolving over time, so please come back and check us out!

December Newsletter

What was your biggest challenge as Outreach Chair?  The biggest challenges I had as outreach chair was getting different people to come to the trips, and visiting the groups as often as I wanted to while still keeping balance with the rest of my commitments. I loved visiting the groups and felt as though once every 3 months per group was not enough seeing as the outlying areas need all the support they can get. Going to the groups, meeting the people, and even exchanging numbers is amazing, but I felt as though it was not enough. We would travel up to 3 hours one-way and be there for 1 hour plus fellowship after, and  sometimes it was hard to leave.  I wanted to bring different people each time, and found that there are "Outreach Warriors" as I heard someone say, and then there was people that would always want to make the trips but had things come up.  I am so thankful for the warriors that I grew close with during my Outreach chair commitment because even though new faces would have been good, I think that seeing people committed to making the trips to support the outer areas really impacted the members of the groups we visited. -Nick R., past Outreach Chair, new Literature Bank Chair.

Second Step, Tradition and Concept

Step 2

We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Tradition 2

For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority--a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.

Concept 2

The final responsibility and authority rests with the NA groups.
